I don’t usually write reviews but this right here…I LOVE IT! It is so smooth and not grainy and dirt like, the perfect amount of sweetness without it being too much. I appreciate it being made with oat milk so it’s perfectly vegan. 😁The only thing I have a problem with is that I drink it too fast it’s so good! I opened my foundation 001 box and already went through three packs almost in one day. I will be buying again! You’ve been amazing my guy(I won’t dox you lol), I’ll see you again at Westlight. The packaging and presentation was 10/10. The thought and attention to detail that went into the Foundation Launch Kit was impressive. One of my favorite features of the packaging is having the water measurement on the packet itself to get that perfect mix ratio. The matcha itself is well balanced and the flavor is 12/10. Oh Man it's really good! I gave my friend some because she likes Matcha, and she Loves it! It blends very well in the Glass Tumbler and I Love that the Matcha is sustainably sourced. It's an all around AWESOME product. The Oat is a nice change. Matcha is darn good for you too. This helps. I have a slight sensitivity to Caffeine, so I just have half of one and I sip slowly. I think it's got 35 mg Caffeine but I don't have the product in front of me right now so don't quote me. It's really good and definitely worth what you pay for. DARSho

This matcha is perfect all on its own. Perfect amount of creaminess, subtle sweetness and with a perfected texture with ZERO clumps. I like to add a Brazilian limeade with the powder and it's one of the best things I've ever had!

How caffeinated is it?

Is the matcha shade-grown?
Yes. All quality matcha plants are shade-grown before harvest — that's what builds the amino acids and L-theanine that make premium matcha taste different. We source only shade-grown, latte-grade matcha from Japan.
Where does your matcha come from?
Our shade-grown, latte-grade matcha comes from Japan. Blended for consistent umami and clean finish — optimized for milk-based drinks.
What's actually in the pouch?
Six ingredients: shade-grown latte-grade matcha (3.5g), allulose, MCT, oat milk powder, sunflower lecithin, sea salt. No gums, no fillers, no artificial sweeteners.
How does the 10-second prep work?
Cold: add 5 oz of cold water to your Activation Tumbler, tear in one pouch, cap it, and shake for 10 seconds. Hot: add 5 oz of hot water to a mug, tear in one pouch, and whisk for 10 seconds with an electric whisk. Either way, ten seconds.
How sweet is it?
Lightly sweet, so the matcha leads. We sweeten with allulose, a rare sugar found in figs and raisins that tastes like sugar. Each pouch has 0g added sugars and 2g total sugars. Allulose is counted under total carbohydrate on the label instead.
Like it sweeter? Stir in your sweetener of choice.
How do I measure the water?
One pouch takes 5 oz of water (about 150 ml, a little over half a cup). The Activation Tumbler has a fill line for exactly that, so pour to the line and shake. No tumbler handy? Fill a measuring cup just past the 1/2 cup mark.
Do I need ice?
Ice is preferred. Shake with 5 oz of cold water, then pour over ice for the full iced latte. On the go without ice? Shake it with cold water and sip it straight from the tumbler. It's still a great latte.
Did you change your name?
Yes. We launched under our first name in June 2026 and have since become DARK MODE. Same team, same 10-second oat latte, same six ingredients and the same latte-grade matcha from Japan. Orders, subscriptions and reviews from before the name change all carry over.
How do I join THE SHADE?
